If you would like to have a royal wedding in Oahu, Hawaii you could choose from these options:

‘Iolani Palace:

It is the solitary royal palace that the United State can boast of. Sited in Honolulu, Hawaii it is a historical gem and considered sacred by the locals. You will have to follow certain rules and policies if you desire to marry here. You will require a permit from the Hawaiian Department of Land and Natural Resources. It could be a fortnight before you get one. The palace grounds host the wedding ceremony followed by the reception in ‘Iolani Palace Barracks. Your wedding guests could visit the ‘Iolani palace Gallaries, during the event if they would like to see the crown jewels and other royal regalia. The facility rental fees is used by the organization “friends of ‘Iolani Palace” to preserve the royal heritage.

Queen Emma Summer palace

Located in the plush Nu’uanu Valley the palace was queen Emma’s summer home. It is a place of historic interest and has a museum too. The wedding could be held at Emmalani Hale (indoors) or at Prince Albert Terrace (outdoors). The facility rental facility depends on the number of wedding guests and it includes entrance fee to the museum.

Private estates:

The private estates available for weddings are breathtakingly beautiful, but some of the price tags could take your breath away too. Perfect locations with the advantage of choosing your own wedding planner are the two advantages you get.

Lanikuhonua, Ko’Olina

Literally meaning “where heaven meets earth”, the Lanikuhonua estate does justice to its name. It is a beach front property offering two different sites for your wedding. It has the added advantage of an almost private beach too. it is close to Paradise Cove, another wedding venue.

Dillingham Ranch, Mokuleia

It’s a private estate with an old world charm to it. The estate situated at the Waianae Mountain base has an equestrian center. Several movies like “tears of sun” and “50 first dates” have been shot at its plantation style home. It is currently under renovation and is expected to be available for weddings by early 2010. You get only the venue for rent, the rest of the paraphernalia has to be arranged for.

Paul Mitchell Estate

Located in Lanikai, it has a stupendous ocean view. It is a unique collection of bungalows that bring together the Indonesian and South Pacific styles. It is an exclusive vacation rental for the elite in Lanikai, Kailua. It has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. It has a splendid ocean front garden for the wedding ceremony.

Bayer Estate (Hawaii Kai), Fanger Estate and Loulu Palms Estate on the north shore are other popular wedding venues. The Windward shore and Waianae Coast also have many lovely vacation rentals for beach weddings.

Private homes

There is another choice that you have, if you know someone who has a holiday home in Oahu and if that home is on ocean front then you have hit the bull’s eye. You can then splurge on your wedding gown or favorite wedding planner or even a good photographer with the money you save on rentals.

If you’re planning a Hawaii wedding reception, you can do it economically, and still have a gorgeous reception, whether you’re inviting 5 or 150 guests. Having your reception at a restaurant is what I recommend because it can be accomplished so easily.

One of the best places to have a wedding reception in Hawaii has got to be the Hau Tree Lani Restaurant where Robert Louis Stevenson is said to have often relaxed under the beautiful, old banyan tree that now covers the dining room patio like a canopy.

The Hau Tree Lanai is a stunning place to dine at sunset. My wife and I had our reception there, and I can vouch for it’s food, excellent service, and romantic atmosphere. I really enjoyed eating outdoors with a spectacular sunset for a back drop.

The best time to plan your Hawaii wedding reception is at 5:30 p.m. when the kitchen opens and the sun is just starting to light up the sky with orange and pink and purple hues. I recommend having your wedding ceremony around 3:00 p.m. because it’s cooler at that time of the day in Hawaii.

We got married in the summer time, so there was really no danger of getting rained out. For people with parties larger than 15, or who want to get married during the rainy season (November through March), the Hau Tree Lanai also has a special banquet room over looking the beach which will seat up to 150 people—and I’m told you can rent it for only 150 bucks!

A lot people think that planning a reception is difficult and that the cost is astronomical. But it doesn’t have to be that way. The Hau Tree Lanai is a great choice, but there are other economical and beautiful restaurants where you can have your Hawaii wedding reception.

I found the Hau Tree Lanai a few days before the day of our wedding, and the manager was able to accommodate us as there were only 15 people in our party. We were lucky because some couples reserve the Hau Tree Lanai for their wedding reception as much as two months in advance. Of course, the smaller your wedding party, the easier it is for the Hau Tree Lanai or any restaurant to accommodate you.

If you have a very small party you can just order right off the menu. For my Hawaii wedding reception the manager and I worked out a short menu for our guests that the kitchen could handle, but would still give our guests plenty of choices.

For $50 to $75 per person, The Hau Tree Lanai will prepare you and your guests a complete dinner with a set menu including:

– Bread and Butter

– Appetizer or Salad

– Entree (4 or 5 different choices)

– Dessert

– Coffee or Tea

That’s basically what we did. And we served our guests champagne at $30 a bottle. There’s about 5 glasses per bottle of champagne, so I think we went through 4 or 5 bottles. There was enough champagne to go around, as I remember.

We selected the following entrees for our guests to choose from:

– Avocado Crab Stuffed Mahi Mahi

– Chicken Hawaiian Monarch

– Jumbo Scampi Sans Souci

– Mango Marinated Pork Chops

– New York Steak With Butter Sauce

A 17% gratuity is added to your bill. With the champagne, the tax, and the gratuity, I remember my bill came to an even grand ($1,000). That was for 15 people. As you can see, if you’re planning your wedding reception in Hawaii, it doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.

The Hau Tree Lanai is located at the edge of a beautiful white sand beach named Sans Souci Beach. The restaurant is part of The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel, a 20 minute walk from Waikiki Beach. It’s a convenient location for people getting married in a park or on a beach near by.

Our limousine ferried my wife and I and several of our honored guests to the Hau Tree Lanai Restaurant. When we walked into the outdoor beach-front dining room, our long banquet table was prepared with pink table clothes and flowers in vases on the table.

The sun was setting and the waiters began pouring champagne. A great time was enjoyed by all. Our dinner party reception lasted about two and a half hours and that included cutting the wedding cake. The Hau Tree Lanai is very friendly, and truly a romantic and economical place to have your Hawaii wedding reception.

If you’re dreaming of a holiday filled with warm, sunny weather, gorgeous sandy beaches and stunning scenery, why not head to the US state of Hawaii?

You can visit the beautiful islands of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Big Island – and each one has so much to offer its visitors.

What’s more, there is a great range of self catering properties available here, so it’s an ideal destination for a holiday property rental.

There is something for everyone in Hawaii. Not surprisingly, it’s a beach lovers’ paradise. But there are also many places to explore, tourist attractions to see and various sporting activities available here.

Kauai, which is also known as the Garden Island, is a great destination for those keen on outdoor activities, such as hiking, fishing, golfing, wind surfing, horseback riding and scuba diving. But if you’re looking to do something less energetic, you can simply chill out and sunbathe on one of Kauai’s delightful beaches.

The island of Oahu is another great Hawaiian destination. Here you will find Honolulu, the capital of the state of Hawaii. Honolulu itself boasts plenty to see and do, including museums, historic buildings, art galleries, restaurants and bars. While you are there, try to visit Iolani Palace. Also in Honolulu is the Ala Moana Center, the world famous shopping centre which is a must-visit for all those who are looking to enjoy some retail therapy!

While you are staying on Oahu, you should also check out the world famous Waikiki Beach, which is an ideal place to learn how to surf.

Molokai is another delightful Hawaiian island which is well worth a visit. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and want to just relax during your holiday, this is the ideal holiday destination. You will find peace and tranquility in Molokai, which is also known as The Friendly Island.

If you are a keen golfer, you should head to the island of Lanai, as it has two championship golf courses! And on Lanai you can see Keahiakawelo (also known as Garden of the Gods), which is an amazing landscape with various shapes and sizes of rocks and boulders.

There’s also the Hawaiian island of Maui. This is a good location to go humpback whale watching. You should be able to see the whales around Maui from mid-December to mid-May each year. You can take a boat trip and, hopefully, will catch a sighting of these incredible creatures during your visit here.

Hawaii’s Big Island, meanwhile, is a great island to explore. Here you can visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is a popular tourist attraction.

Not surprisingly, Hawaii is a perfect wedding and honeymoon destination. This is a truly beautiful part of the world to get married and to spend an idyllic honeymoon, too.

But whether you’re planning on tying the knot or not, Hawaii makes a superb location for any holiday, whether it’s a family vacation, a sporting trip or a more relaxing break.

These beautiful Hawaiian islands have something to offer everyone. And no matter which island you choose, you are likely to have a fun and relaxing time during your holiday.

Hawaii has an entire battalion of wedding planners, or so it seems. This tropical paradise has long beckoned to honeymooners from around the globe. Wedding and Honeymoon packages, offering the ultimate in romance, are customized to meet the every whim of each honeymooning couple. Wedding coordinators plan the entire event from start to finish, providing an almost stress free experience for the happy couple.

In fact, Oahu is rumored to be the place where the spirit of love, the “aloha spirit,” comes alive. What better place could there be for a honeymoon? Moreover, Oahu is home to the ever-popular Waikiki Beach. The views are spectacular, the food is extraordinary, and the weather is gorgeous.

Maui offers upscale resorts, as well as the world’s only water elevator. Along with the serenity of the Hana Coast, Kaanapali Beach is a great place for fun in the sun. Oversized rooms, tropical cuisine, and five-star luxury complete the recipe for honeymoon magic.

Kaua’i, the oldest of the islands, offers luxurious foliage in the most tropical of settings. Poipu Beach is the place for fun in the sun, while Mt. Waialeale provides fantastic views.

Moloka’i, while offering the tallest sea cliffs in the world, also offers the largest white sand beach in Hawaii. The atmosphere on this island is laid back and the scenery is fabulous.

Lana’i, once famous for its pineapples, is now famous for its relaxing vacation opportunities. Here, honeymooners can golf, swim, or tour the island on a four-wheel adventure.

Hawaii, the “Big Island,” provides exciting chances for the honeymooners to witness live volcano flow. Moreover, the waterfalls are spectacular, the people are delightful, and the resorts are out of this world.
